Kent Structures is pleased to announce the start of a new industrial unit project for Church & Dwight, the global brand behind Arm & Hammer. With spring in the air, it’s the perfect time to get this exciting build underway.
The new Production Unit is the latest addition to their extensive research and manufacturing site at Wear Bay Road (Bowles Well Gardens) in Folkestone, Kent.
The project includes construction of a steel portal frame building with composite wall cladding. It is a significant sized industrial unit, measuring in at 1758 m2.
Kent Structures has been appointed on an Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor’s Design. Our involvement includes final technical design, existing slab remedial works, additional groundworks and steel frame structure design and erection.
We are looking forward to delivering this project as part of a highly experienced design and construction team which includes RDA Consulting Architects and Modus Construction Consultants.
Built with Sustainability in Mind
This project replaces an older structure and prioritises sustainable construction. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we’re using recyclable steel and cladding throughout. Furthermore, the design incorporates Kingspan LEC (Low Embodied Carbon) to help lower the building’s environmental footprint.
Project Progress and Timeline
Work is already progressing well. Our team began the technical design in March. Since then, we’ve completed site set-up in preparation for ground preparation works, which will begin shortly. Meanwhile, steel deliveries are scheduled to arrive in May, keeping the project firmly on track.
Church & Dwight develop and produce many of their products locally in Folkestone. So, we are really pleased to be involved in this significant business expansion project, which has the potential to benefit the region economically. Dan Calnan, Director
