This was a very important project for Kent Structures as it was the first time of working with this well-established crop production specialist and their architect of choice: Steven Dunn of Steven Dunn Architects Limited and it was to build them a Steel portal framed building in Canterbury, Kent.
When we first took over the site, there was an old cottage in the middle of waist high vegetation that needed to be demolished and cut down before we could even think about the next steps.
After that had occurred, we began the process of building the 10,000sq.ft, single span, duo pitched steel portal framed building. This comprised of a double height stores hub, ancillary office space, welfare areas, meeting rooms and a reception area. Over two floors, the total internal floor space was approximately 4,000sq.ft.
In addition to the build itself, we also laid the new car parking and yard area, erected the fencing and installed a large security gate. With the landscaping as the finishing touch, the building was ready to handover seven months after we started.
